How the Changes Play Out
Snow Bricks and Tidier Ice Bricks
Snow Bricks give Minecraft PE builders a brick set that never melts, so snowy builds keep their shape. A Shovel mines it best. Wandering Traders now sell one Ice Crystal for two Emeralds. Packed Ice Bricks are now easier to find and use:
- They follow their Sulfur counterparts in Creative inventory
- They make Note Blocks play the Chime sound
- Their slabs and stairs submerge correctly in lava and water
Mobs Adapt to the Cold
Equip a Sulfur Cube with a Blue Ice block to give it the Cold archetype: it acts like Fast Sliding, with a Frost Walker touch on water. In Powder Snow, Husks and Drowned now become Zombies before Frostbites. Villagers and Zombie Villagers in Ice Caves now spawn as snowy variants.
Fairer Teleports, Smarter Swimmers
Teleporting into the side of a block no longer triggers effects meant for standing on it, and Mojang matches Ender Pearls to Java behavior. Frogs in deep water now reliably climb out onto land, and adult Turtles leave the water for nearby land too.
Keyboard Shortcuts and Captions
MCPE on Android now handles physical keyboards better: Tab no longer types a stray Õ in chat, and Ctrl+Backspace or Ctrl+Delete clears a whole word. Captions stop flashing and vanishing after you close a menu, and 14 more items get tooltips.
