Breaking Down the Update

A Proper Calcite Palette

Calcite now comes with stairs, slabs and walls, plus Polished Calcite and Polished Calcite Brick sets and a Calcite Pillar, so whole builds can stay in one material. Mojang also hid a new decorative block somewhere, without saying where.

Ice Blocks and Freezing

Minecraft PE builders can now cut Packed Ice into the whole brick set on a Stonecutter. Brittle Ice, Snow Bricks and the packed bricks also cast proper shade, so mobs below stop burning in daylight. While you’re on fire, freezing can’t build up.

New Disc and Jukebox Popups

The new “flurry” disc by Hyper Potions has a 30% chance to show up in Igloo chests. With the Music Features Add-On, Jukeboxes now tell you which Track Discs can’t play, like when you’re offline or mobile data isn’t allowed for online play.

Quick Off-Hand Swaps

MCPE now lets you move suitable items to the off-hand and back, and a Swap off-hand hint tells you when it works. On a keyboard it’s F, while on a controller the Crafting button swaps instead of opening the inventory.

Storage, Graphics and Stability Fixes

Chests and containers now behave more predictably:

Chest loot no longer differs on the same seed
Containers replaced with /fill or /setblock no longer lose items
Sulfur, Cinnabar and Packed Ice Brick Walls stop blocking chests

A memory leak from bouncing between the Play and world creation screens is fixed, and phone players get proper leaf transparency after switching Simple and Fancy graphics.
