Sulfur Caves get denser and deadlier

Sulfur Caves now spawn noticeably more sulfur pools, and the biome generates with all its features even when exposed to the surface.

Mob spawning has been rebalanced inside the caves. Creepers, Skeletons, and Zombies appear less often but always in pairs, Witches show up less frequently, and Sulfur Cubes now spawn in groups of two to four. Cave Spiders replace regular Spiders, and Glow Lichen coverage was reduced to match other cave biomes. Sulfur and Cinnabar block textures were also updated to align with Java Edition.

Sulfur Cube fixes and balance

The Sulfur Cube received the biggest list of changes in Minecraft 26.30.29. It can no longer pick up more than one item at a time on its own, server performance has been improved when many cubes are clustered together, and a long-standing bug that left them floating after absorbing a sinking block is fixed. Magma Sulfur Cubes no longer damage Netherite Armor, shields no longer block their damage, and Fire Resistance now correctly protects against them. A new death message appears when a player is killed by a Magma Sulfur Cube.

Potent Sulfur, TNT and UI tweaks

Erupting Potent Sulfur particles now travel higher and are no longer blocked as easily by surrounding blocks, matching Java behavior. TNT finally has smoke particles when ignited, making it easier to spot armed blocks. On the interface side, the freeze that occurred when opening a furnace without recipes is fixed, and the old Locator Bar toggle has been replaced by a Player Waypoints setting in world creation, letting you choose between “Off” and “Everyone”.

Realms and add-on changes

Realms no longer crashes when using Clear All Members, and the Custom Projectiles experiment has graduated for use beyond the experimental context. Several waypoint and dimension APIs moved from beta to stable in @minecraft/server 2.8.0, which is good news for add-on creators planning Android-compatible content.
